Ragdolls are born completely white, and only on the 3rd-4th day the color begins to appear. The color is fully formed by 1.5-2 years.
There are three types: bicolor, mitted and color point.
Two-tone color: currently popular color variant, which is associated with the Ragdoll breed. The two-colored ones have a dark mask on their muzzle in the shape of an inverted letter "V", starting from the forehead and running down the cheeks to the chin. On the back, the dark wool forms a "cloak". The paws should be white. The skin on the nose and the pads of the paws are pink.
Mitted. The mask covers the entire muzzle, leaving a light area at the base of the ears. but they should have a white chin, turning into a white collar, and then a white stripe on their stomach, as well as white socks on their front paws and white stockings on their hind legs. The color of the nose corresponds to the color of the mask on the muzzle. The standard allows for the presence of a white spot in the nose area or between the eyes, it is called a "flame".
Color point - dark colored ears, tail, muzzle and lower part of paws are combined with a light tone of wool on the rest of the body. The nose and paw pads are the same color as the dark markings. There should be no white spots on the coat, although the light basic tone of some cats may appear white.
In the standard of shades:
Main:
- blue with a light gray shade and dark gray prints (markings) with a bluish undertone of forces.
- the sial main color is a shade of light tan, the color of the markings is dark brown.
Rare:
- the lilac main color of the fur coat of such cats is snow-white, the contrast color is a shade of ivory with a barely perceptible gray-pink undertone.
- chocolate is based on a shade of warm melted milk. It is shaded by markings of a shade of milk chocolate.
It is noteworthy that there are also rare variations of the pattern in the form of a lynx and a turtle. Both patterns can be present in any color
